What is ILIGANiCE?

ILIGANiCE (Innovation thru Leveraging Industry, Government, Academe Networks and inclusive Community Engagements) Program is a DOST X funded project, spearheaded by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension of MSU-IIT, that aims to establish a more cohesive and dynamic research and innovation ecosystem thru active engagements, research collaborations, and partnerships.

Programs and Activities

The ILIGANiCE Team had the chance to celebrate the 1st Region 10 National Innovation Day held at SM Uptown, Cagayan de Oro City on April 21-22, 2022 with the theme “FILIPINNOVATION: Unlocked”. This event aims to promote an innovation culture as well as recognize innovative initiatives in the Region. 

On March 9, ILIGANICE, one of Northern Mindanao’s two innovation programs that actualizes the vision of the Regional Inclusive Innovation Centers (RIIC), was recognized at an Appreciation Luncheon held at the Limketkai Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City. The other innovation program recognized was the OROBEST Innovation Program. 

The activity was held to celebrate the milestones and successes of the RIIC initiative in Region 10 and recognize the key partners and RIIC champions. 

On March 8, MSU-IIT ILIGANiCE and FABLAB hosted a visit of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) delegation on campus who observed first-hand the impact of the university’s various programs and initiatives on research and innovation. MSU-IIT Chancellor Alizedney Ditucalan and Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension Jinky Bornales welcomed the delegation led by USAID Mission Director Ryan Washburn.

The USAID team visited the facilities where projects and activities are supported and funded by the USAID.

The ILIGANiCE Team had the opportunity to visit the DOST Region 10 office at Cagayan de Oro City on March 9, 2022. 

Last March 10, 2022, the ILIGANiCE Team visited the DTI Region 10 office at Cagayan de Oro City. 

ILIGANiCE Assessment and Evaluation


The 2-day ILIGANiCE Assessment and Evaluation (March 24-25, 2022) together with the support of our external partners from DOST-10, DTI-10 and Iligan Chamber of Commerce. The said assessment and evaluation were filled with creative and collaborative ideas from the active participation of partners.

Part of the celebration of National Innovation Day with the theme “FILIPINNOVATION: Unlocked” held on April 21, 2022 at Cagayan de Oro City; DOST-10 recognized RRDIC-X outstanding members and innovation partners. 


Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology - for its notable contributions as a member of the Regional Research, Development and Innovation Committee

ILIGANiCE and iDEYA- for its commendable contributions as an Innovation Champion in Northern Mindanao.

Dr.Jinky B. Bornales (Project Leader, ILIGANiCE)- for her commendable contribution as an Innovation Partner of the Regional Research, Development and Innovation Committee.

Constantino Brasileno (Lead for Incubation, iDEYA)- for his commendable contribution as an Innovation Partner of the Regional Research, Development and Innovation Committee.

International Women's Day
