About Us
ILIGANiCE (Innovation thru Leveraging Industry, Government, Academe Networks and inclusive Community Engagements) Program is a DOST X funded project, spearheaded by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension of MSU-IIT, that aims to establish a more cohesive and dynamic research and innovation ecosystem thru active engagements, research collaborations, and partnerships.
Our Mission and Vision
The ILIGANiCE Program will facilitate in advancing science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship and in promoting a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy in Northern Mindanao by strengthening linkages between and among the government, industry and academe sector. Through ILIGANiCE, stronger innovation collaboration across the community expected to thrive.
Our Objective
To provide guidance and assistance to MSMEs (Micro, Small, Medium and Social Enterprises) in terms of products and business development as well s in accessing appropriate innovation resources.
To develop an agile innovation related policy briefs and programs that would facilitate a more dynamic economic activity in the region.
To develop business-comprehensible technologies and market competitive products among MSMEs.
To assist aspiring entrepreneurs and startups in undertaking innovation processes for business resiliency.
To promote a sustainable innovation ecosystem thru community engagements and partnerships.
ILIGANiCE MOU Signing
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-X, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-10, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan, Inc. (CCIFII), and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) program signed a memorandum of understanding for innovation ecosystem development in Iligan City.
Innovation Ecosystem of Iligan City
Iligan City has more than 500 DTI SMES, e.g. processed food, agri products from rubber. It is also considered as the industrialized city of the south.
Iligan City is also home to eight colleges and one university, with MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology as the only state university in the city.
MSU-IIT has a research and innovation related facilities: Technology Business Incubator, Fabrication Laboratory, the Knowledge Technology Transfer Office, and the Premier Research Institute of Science and Mathematics (PRISM).
